Thursday July 1st: As I was reading this Our Daily Journey article on Friday after my submission of my first assignment, I saw this: The story of King Asa offers a textbook sample of this apparent "cause and effect relationship" with God. Asa was an excellent leader who turned his people from worshiping false gods (2 Chronicles 15:8). (But late in his reign, he depended on his own strength and judgement instead of God) [CAUSE]. Eventually, Hanani the prophet told Asa "the eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him". Asa's heart was evidently not fully tune with God, for the balance of his life was marked by war and disease [EFFECT]. When I read about this causal linkages, I smiled and it gives me memory of how much efforts I put in my assignment to relate the causal linkages in the assignment. On the other hand, the article reflected my spiritual life that everything has it cause and effect "consequences" after what you have done. It is whether good or bad. Therefore, God will honour us if we honour Him. We should come right with God and be faithful to Him.

Now is Enterprise Resource Planning System and Business Law

As I dealing with 'Balanced Scorecard' (BSC) originated by Kaplan and Norton, it is not only for company to measure it performances or personal scorecard in company. In fact, we can use it to measure your own life. It's not easy to measure and it's complicated. Why? Because human are more complicated than companies. The 4 'quadrants'or perspectives that author developed it may be useful in company but not in human. Therefore we human can design our own performance measure system and claim as IN-HOUSE Balaced Scorecard.

I did not use it fully. But I felt that my mission and vision drawn by my mindset may not come true. Why? Because my vision is so not going to happen. Some experts would say that to be going concern company, you must have mission and vision to develop strategies and use BSC to measure and it may translate to organization strategic goal which help to implement strategies. Oh well.. This means I don't know how to develop good strategies. Argument here is that will mission and vision drawn can be successfully achieved by following the strategies? Sometimes our vision that we set may fail because it's not realistic at all. My mom always say why think so far?why want to think about the future?why you like to dream so much? "I don't even want to think what will happen in future" said my mom. Without dream or goals, how would you want to achieve what you want to achieve? Better don't become human.urghh

This is so disturbing! On the bright sight, maybe this is what the CIMA Strategic Scorecard developed, 'Strategic Options'. There are options in life, if you can't do this choose another one and invest. How? In corporate world, they may use capital budgeting or investment appraisal. But for human?how? How to appraise the person to be your life time partner? Very hard! Harder than use NPV and IRR as tool to appraise. Maybe I should look deeper? I don't know! I should change my vision by choosing another option. Then how to implement it? And how to measure the risk? Adoi.. Balanced Scorecard sangat susah so to human 'BSC'.. It's very complicating!~

Both also transform from performance measurement to strategic management;in fact, one has cause-effect relationship notion and the other one is on the coherence of the various perspectives is that way to integrate an d coordinate the actions of the various functions and activities of the business as a whole. So what's the difference?

Realised that some of the business models and IT system models can apply into people's lives not in business or IT term but in human character for improvement in many ways.hmm..

Finally!Got offered by STAR Education Fund (scholarship) and I accepted the offer. I never had a dream come true as it is. Without God, I got nothing; by the grace of God, I'm blessed. And I would like to take this opportunity thank to all who have supported me in prayer and in morale. You know who you are. =) Let me tell you a story regarding to my interview...

Scene 1

Went to college with all my unsorted original certificates. Rushed to faculty office and grab a certificates file holder and chuck in my certs accordingly. After that, went to toilet and tie my necktie and went back to office to sit for awhile to calm myself down.

Scene 2

Walked to the waiting room which located opposite of my office. Open the door, I saw two unknown students that I never seen them before in this college. They looked at me and I looked at them. Good Morning! Don't worry, I'm not one of the panels, said me. Took my sit and start my conversation with the two interviewee until they are called. Well waited for half an hour, and they are few more students coming in. So late! Then 1st student was called and went in to the interview room.

Scene 3

The interview lasted 30 minutes. Pecah record! said one of the guy. After few minutes, I was called. Went in and greeted the panels. First question, can you tell us about yourself. Started my answers and then 2nd and 3rd and 4th questions posted. After all, one of them commented, you have a strong recommendation letter from you Dean of faculty and I also can see that your results from SPM and Diploma; your results had a tremendous change ahh..good good.. The rest also said hmm good..good.. Alright thank you Ivan. Stood up and went to the panels and shook their hand and say thanks.

Scene 4

Went back to the waiting room and opened the door.. One of the guys that came early was shocked! WHAT?! 10 mins? LOL...All da best everyone said me!

I received a missed call while I was having my class. During the break, went to office and called the number and tut tut tut.. Thank you for calling Star Publication. money not easy to earn, yet it is easy to spend money.

Today was the commencement of my course, BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance 3+0, (2+0). As I said, I'm only doing 2 years program starts from year 2. Orientation was darn bored plus the wonderful bored ice breaking session led by student council of the college. They are just lame and just didn't really connect to the pupil like us. This whole thing took about 1hour and had break to usher or watch the coming of lion dance then headed for lunch. Back to college for 2nd part of the day, the program briefing, luckily short and sweet. Here is my timetable:

Monday, 11.30am-2.30pm - Management Accounting (Part 1)

Thursday, 12.00pm-3.00pm - Taxation (Part 1)

3.30pm-6.30pm - Advanced Financial Accounting (Part 1)

Friday, 3.30pm-6.30pm - Business and Company Law (Part 1)

Basically, I got only 3 days of classes. In fact, my real course structure doesn't have the part 1 thingy. Mean these 4 subjects consist of 30 credits each;straight forward and due to our beloved MQA requirement, they made a breakdown on these subjects into part 1 and part 2 or you can call it each subject require to finish in 2 semesters instead of 1 or 4 subjects in 2 semesters. Therefore my schedule is superb weird.hahaha.. Oh yeah! Basically class only starts on the first of March and ends on fourth of June then continue 2nd semester, the part 2. You know what? My final examinations will be on January 2011..urgh..

BORING!

On behalf of SEGi College Subang Jaya group of SEGi University College, I shall pronounce Ivan Chong is OFFICIALLY graduated from his Diploma in Accountancy with cgpa of 3.57!*clap clap*

oh yes! I am officially graduated from my diploma from SEGi College. Just to wait for few more months for convocation. What's next? I'll be continuing my degree which also will be in the same college. Yup! BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance from University of Greenwich which provides exemptions from ACCA up to 9 papers F5-F9 upon my completion of the course. My diploma itself already giving me exemptions from F1-F4. Basically after I complete my course, I only need to sit for 5 professional modules paper. How many years am I going to take? Well for degree, it will be 2 more years. For ACCA, I will put this aside first. I shall work in account and audit firm first before I continue back my studies in ACCA to get my professional qualifications.

Holiday is darn boring. I have tidy up my notes and my text books and also keep them in my cupboard. What else? Repaired my car door by my own. Service my car by my own. Service my computer. All D.I.Y. Thanks to bunch of my friends for going together gather. Had some funs! When reached home, my goodness.. What can I do? Play the guitar, watch series, sleep, eat, sleep, eat, and sleep.LOL. Oh yea! My degree is starting in February the 22nd. Around 4 more weeks.urghh..can't wait any longer...

results will be out next week and further information on University of Greenwich will turn to green light next week after the officers from Greenwich give the approval of running the program. It means, I may be starting my BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance somewhere in February. After so much of inquiries and demand, at least the program soon will start running. All da best to me as I will be facing annoying people in class urgh.. as long as I away from them til I can concentrate. I'm serious about it and no fooling around you guys! Don't want to study then don't come. It's degree, no more a small matter like diploma! Hope things will run well especially lecturer quality! oh yah! I have not register yet. I still have to wait ACCA reply. If things don't go smooth, here I go to University of Hertfordshire (INTI). so shut up you management!

Any entertainment please have it after 8th Dec,12pm.my brain been squeezed like don't know like what lately. Pray for me. - concentration and ability to understand the topics.

There will be changes for my coming degree program. Why? Because the degree major in accounting and finance at University of Teesside offered does not fulfill ACCA requirements in terms of exemption given upon degree graduates. The total fee RM26,000++ without exemptions from ACCA is not worth at all. Now I am thinking which university college to enroll to get my further exemptions for ACCA and with well recognized degree. So..where?..where?.. I am for sure to persuade my degree after my diploma graduation instead of gain working experience. Hmm.. Will start hunting for it after my final examination finish. There is also another alternative which is to wait for the next intake that would be on Sept 2010. Why? Because the degree program is restructuring their units/modules to fulfill or to fit the ACCA requirement to get maximum exemptions which will be 5 papers including 4 more papers from diploma. So at the mean time, I have to find a job for 8months. Maybe in SEGi college provided if there give me higher pay. Hahaha. Will this happen to me with higher pay compare to previous pay from them? It seems unlikely due to the college wants to spend and maximize the utility of marketing people to get more students in. Sucks. Think about other staffs to create good welfare before you start to think bringing more students in!

p/s: I kind of don't like marketing people.

PTPTN convert into scholarship provided if graduate as first class honour or equivalent. Announced in budget 2010. Hmm..can I achieve that high cgpa in my degree?hmm

I was late for 10mins to class. Guess what happened? I was marked as late comer and this indicated that my 5% of coursework marks - attendance been deducted. I don't know how much this lecturer would deduct. Why late? Was searching for parking lot and there is none left for me to park my car. Goodness.. So wasted 5mins and went to park in Summit. By that time 10mins already gone. So I was late. No excuse bla bla bla. Well first time ever kena this wei.. Had Bah Kut Teh for lunch with Ms. Helena, my faculty's dean and Chris at Klang opposite Klang Parade. What a good combination of wet and dry pork meat man. Still remember that shop that I used to makan at with my late father. We had Bah Kut Teh all the time whenever that we shopped at Klang Parade without fail. Mana tau the Bah Kut Teh shop is still there.lol.. Indeed, we had good lunch there.good lunch wei.

Attended a Taekwondo Kyorugi Referee Course.. Of all days, all the MSSS or other competitions, referees were imported from Angkatan Tentera Malaysia. In short, the associations or the organizers been outsourcing referees all these while. Now this course is to recruit more in house referee..

I have 29 assignment questions in total for Corporate Audit yet to be done and due next Thursday. What I did today? Basically I've done 5 questions of out the 29; by right I should have done more than that. Well better than none of the questions answered right. Sigh..How to get rid of this laziness of me??? However, the significant thing I did today was get to my car's right door FIXED by my own. Ya, the door spoiled and can't open for quite sometime.. Therefore, now is FIXED!!! Woohooo~

annoyed by ring tones - the 'nothing gonna change my love for you' was one of the loudest ring tone by one of the lecturer. kind of annoying.

avoiding vila - vila is the head of exam unit, she's kind of annoying and busybody with things that tak berkenaan with her.

irregular break - rule imposed by management where staff are not allow to take irregular break during working hours.

waiting for lift - college lifts are always full and slow.

by God's grace, 4 distinction and 1 credit.
my feeling: contended and so thankful to God for giving me the good result.
my aim: study harder as my current semester is not as same as previous semester and at the mean time to serve Him and follow His will.

Current semester: Business Finance, Intro to Taxation, Financial Accounting 4, Company Law and Corporate Audit. Super tough and challenging. The rest..no comment at this moment =p

Exam result is out and yet to release

ya ya ya. Went out to IKEA for shopping during working hour. What a bad ethic. The truth is, went out with lecturer to purchase utensils for Hotel Management student's practical training. All these utensils are belong to the college therefore I'm helping college to do something which means I'm working instead of window shopping. In fact still shopping but shop for college.hahaha..lunch time, had meat balls and nice cappuccino. What a nice day to work. wohooo

Holiday started and will end in 2 weeks time. Guess what? I'll be working in my college in my faculty of business. 9am - 6pm..

Fear can be a good thing when it motivates us to take safety precaution.

Finally!no more to papers! I'm officially completed all my units in this semester. Easy and hard..mistakes were here and there for every paper I've sat as usual. Hope the result would not be giving me any hard time. I think I could have done better if there is a full understanding of the theories for my particular unit. Is just that I don't know how to crap by giving explaination. hahaha. anyway, back to back papers will just torture a person from not having enough sleep and cause the memory to hang. oh well.. finished means finished. no more!!!

Given 2 weeks holiday and I'll be working in my faculty for 1 week with wages of course.

Next semester would be the tough one where there will be allocation of units here and there. I have to add and drop subject where I might be going to Kota Damansara's campus to do one of my subject during my final semester that would be in one more semester. I really don't know yet. Will see how then.

Today's weather at least better than previous days. Studied Business Statistics in one of the classes instead of library because library full of students and warm. Therefore went to one of the classes in college and study alone without permission.oops. Anyway, study statistics alone also occupied so much of space. How stress am I wei. oops..back to revision.

Why the weather so hot these days? The sun is like coming nearer to the earth and like going to explode anytime from now. Even take bath at night, the water is warm punya. It proves that how hot it is during the day time. Please rain, heavy rain, the thunder storm type one's. Each day of humidity will cause my body temperature goes up that may affect my emotion wei. Means I also can explode anytime from than.

Final Examinations started today with finance paper. Prayed before open the question paper and then questions were easy. I written everything confidently without doubt because I was fully prepared yet spotted mistakes after my answer scripts were handed up. Hope still can get distinction. How greedy am I. hehe. So after this paper, I have 3 more to go (Statistics, Management and Law). Quick quick! I can't wait anymore and I want jump to the water as the weather is really hot these days.

Anyway, after this semester, still have 8 more units(subject) to go in 2 semester for me to graduate from diploma. What's next? I really aim to get good CGPA in order to apply for scholarship to continue my degree. If scholarship don't want me then family scholarship as in my uncle sponsor better. Therefore I hope this coming next semester I can boost up my CGPA then I will be on the safe side. University of Teesside, BA(Hons) Degree in Finance and Accounting for 2 years. Enroll as 2nd year student with exempted units. As today's economic not in good position, better continue study rather than working. Market no good, here retrench there retrench. All in all, God's will be done.
